growin' tips...
Gaillardia
Gaillardia is hardy from USDA Zone 5 to 8 in the East, 5-9 in the West.
Plants grow 18-24" tall. The tubular red-and-yellow flowers, which flare at their tips like miniature trumpets,
bloom from June to September.
CULTURE: Once established, Gaillardia is very tolerant of hot, dry conditions. If the soil is too wet after planting,
Gaillardia will have difficulty becoming established. Grow in full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sun a day; the
more the better) in average to dry garden soil. Excellent drainage is very important, especially in the winter.
Space plants 12" apart. |
